Embroidery Thread Sampler

A sampler set made for the tatreez adventurer! Explore 7 different types of embroidery thread that you can use for Palestinian tatreez and other forms of traditional embroidery.
Set includes 2 meters each of:
- Pearl cotton #8 thread
- Sashiko thread (cotton)
- Perle silk thread
- Spun silk thread or stranded floss
- Linen thread
- Alpaca thread
- Bamboo thread or stranded floss
Each set will also include at least one sample that is variegated (typically the pearl cotton, sashiko, or one of the silk threads). All threads are naturally dyed in an effort to revive a nearly extinct part of the Palestinian tradition of tatreez. Colors will vary; the threads pictured are just an example.
Total: ~14 meters of botanically hand-dyed embroidery thread made out of various cellulose and protein fibers.
11 and 14 count aida cloth or 10 and 13 count wasta canvas recommended to test out the different threads, which come in different sizes (e.g. perle silk is thinner than perle cotton and not recommended for 10 or 11 count).
Description
***Note on botanical dyes: Natural dyes are not the same as synthetic dyes. While I use a mordant as a fixative for most dyes, botanical dyes, by nature, will likely fade or change over time. I use botanical dyes on all threads and all aida cloth colors, with the exception of black and white.
Care Instructions:
I recommend using botanically dyed thread on projects that will not be worn (e.g. framed pieces) if you are concerned about light and wash fastness. If you do need to wash your piece, hand wash in cold water with a small amount of gentle detergent or shampoo. Keep in mind that colors may still bleed, even though I thoroughly rinse the thread after dyeing.

Shipping Policy
Items such as Tatreez Kits are made to order and will require the most processing time before shipping, typically 1-2 weeks.
Embroidery supplies and other ready-made items will usually be ready to ship within a week.
If you have selected a customization option (e.g. custom embroidered pouch), allow for an extra 1-2 days of processing time.
All items are shipped via USPS Ground Advantage which will take about 2-5 business days to arrive once shipped.
Refund Policy
No refunds for digital items (e.g. embroidery patterns, printable coloring pages, etc.) and custom orders. No partial refunds for Tatreez Kits.
All other items are eligible for returns and refunds under the following conditions:
- Items must be returned within 14 days of delivery.
- Buyer is responsible for cost of shipping.
- Items must be unopened, unused, and in their original condition
